IELTS Speaking Coaching for Band 7+
Get the IELTS Speaking score you need to move forward
1-to-1 IELTS Speaking coaching to help you speak with greater confidence, fluency and accuracy — and achieve the score you need for migration, professional registration, university or your career.
You may already have the qualifications, experience and English ability you need. If your IELTS Speaking score is holding you back, I’ll help you understand what’s preventing you from reaching your target and what you need to do differently.
Struggling to reach your target IELTS Speaking score?
You might understand English well but still find it difficult to achieve the Speaking score you need.
Perhaps you:
- Hesitate or lose your train of thought when answering questions
- Struggle to develop your answers beyond a few sentences
- Repeat the same vocabulary
- Make recurring grammar mistakes
- Find Part 2 difficult to structure and extend
- Struggle with the more abstract questions in Part 3
- Don’t know exactly why you’re receiving your current band score
- Have practised lots of questions but aren’t seeing your score improve
You may even feel that your IELTS result doesn’t reflect your actual ability to communicate in English.
Simply doing more IELTS Speaking practice isn’t always enough.
You need to know what you’re doing well, what is holding you back and what to do differently.
That’s where personalised IELTS Speaking coaching can help. If you need support across multiple IELTS skills, you can also explore our IELTS Coaching.
What could a higher IELTS Speaking score change for you?
For many people, IELTS isn’t simply an English test. The score you achieve can determine what you can apply for, where you can work and whether you can move forward with your plans.
You may already have the qualifications, experience and professional skills you need. But if your IELTS Speaking score is below the required level, your English result can become the thing holding you back.
For professionals seeking registration
You may already be qualified in your profession, but need a specific IELTS score to obtain professional registration in Australia, the UK or elsewhere.
A higher Speaking score could help you meet the English-language requirement and move closer to practising in your profession.
This can be particularly relevant for professionals such as nurses, doctors, pharmacists, teachers, engineers and other regulated or skilled occupations.

For migration and permanent residency
You may be trying to achieve a particular IELTS score for migration, visa or permanent residency purposes.
If one component is consistently below the required level, you may find yourself having to retake the test, pay additional fees and wait longer before you can move forward with your application.
Improving your Speaking score can help you meet the English requirement you need for your migration pathway.
For university and further study
You may have the academic ability to succeed on your chosen course, but still need to meet an English-language requirement before you can study.
Improving your Speaking score can help you meet your university’s requirements and move forward with your studies rather than continuing to retake IELTS.
For your career
Sometimes the IELTS score is only one part of a much bigger goal.
You may want to qualify for better roles, work in an English-speaking environment, take on more responsibility or have greater professional opportunities.
A stronger command of spoken English can also make a difference beyond the test — from contributing confidently in meetings and interviews to explaining your ideas clearly to colleagues and clients.
For everyday communication
You may be able to communicate in English, but still feel that you aren’t expressing yourself as naturally or confidently as you’d like.
Perhaps you struggle to join conversations with native speakers, find it difficult to explain more complex ideas or become frustrated when you know what you want to say but can’t find the words quickly enough.
IELTS Speaking coaching won’t just help you practise test questions. It can help you become more aware of how you communicate, identify the patterns holding you back and develop greater control over your spoken English.
The goal isn’t simply to get a higher number on your IELTS result. It’s to remove an English-language barrier that may be standing between you and what you want to do next.
1-to-1 IELTS Speaking Coaching
Every student is different, so your coaching is based on your current ability, target score and individual weaknesses.
Rather than simply working through endless lists of IELTS Speaking questions, we’ll identify the specific skills you need to develop and focus your practice accordingly.
Fluency & Coherence
Learn how to develop your answers naturally, keep speaking without excessive hesitation and connect your ideas more effectively.
Vocabulary
Expand your range of vocabulary and, more importantly, learn how to use it naturally and accurately rather than forcing memorised words and phrases into your answers.
Grammar
Identify the grammatical errors that are affecting your score and work on improving accuracy while maintaining natural communication.
Pronunciation
Improve clarity, word stress, sentence stress and other aspects of pronunciation that affect how easily the examiner can understand you.
Developing Your Answers
Learn how to give answers that are appropriately developed for the question, particularly in Parts 2 and 3.
Personalised Feedback
After practice, you’ll receive honest and specific feedback so you understand exactly what you should continue doing and what you need to change.
IELTS Speaking Coaching for your specific goal
Your reason for taking IELTS may be different from someone else’s. Your coaching should reflect that.
Healthcare professionals
You may need to meet an English-language requirement for professional registration or employment.
Teachers and education professionals
You may need a specific IELTS score to meet registration, migration or employment requirements.
Engineers and skilled professionals
You may need IELTS for migration, professional recognition or to improve your employment options in an English-speaking country.
Lawyers and other professionals
You may need to demonstrate a high level of English for professional registration, migration or career progression.
Students and graduates
You may need to meet an English requirement before starting university, postgraduate study or another academic programme.
Professionals preparing for migration
You may need a particular score to meet your visa or migration requirements and avoid repeatedly sitting the test.
Whatever your goal, we’ll work backwards from the score you need and focus on the specific Speaking skills that will help you get there.
IELTS Speaking Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3
Your IELTS Speaking test has three parts, and each requires a slightly different approach.
Part 1 — Personal Questions
Part 1 covers familiar topics such as your home, work, studies, hobbies and interests.
You’ll learn how to give natural, appropriately developed answers without sounding rehearsed or relying on memorised responses.
Part 2 — The Long Turn
Part 2 requires you to speak for an extended period based on a cue card.
We’ll work on how to use your preparation time effectively, organise your ideas, extend your answer and maintain fluency while speaking.
Part 3 — Discussion
Part 3 involves more complex and abstract questions.
For students targeting Band 7+, this can be particularly important.
You’ll practise expressing and supporting opinions, explaining ideas, comparing different perspectives and responding naturally to follow-up questions.
What happens in an IELTS Speaking coaching session?
1. Assess your current level
We’ll identify your current strengths, weaknesses and likely Speaking band.
2. Identify what's holding you back
We’ll look beyond simply getting questions wrong and identify the specific language and communication issues affecting your performance.
3. Practise realistic IELTS Speaking tasks
You’ll practise Parts 1, 2 and 3 using realistic IELTS-style questions and situations.
4. Receive detailed feedback
You’ll understand what you’re doing well, where you’re losing marks and what you need to work on.
5. Practise between sessions
You’ll receive specific areas to focus on between lessons so that your improvement continues outside the coaching session.
Accountability. Practice. Consistency. Awareness. Reflection.
